Davelyn Athena's therapy reaches past the walls of a traditional therapist and into holistic healing. She holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and has experience working with survivors of violence and using art therapy to connect her patients with healing and wholeness.
In addition to holding a MFT, Davelyn Athena is a Level II Reiki Practitioner of the Usuimethod. As a Spiritual Director, she has facilitated retreats and classes in the Upstate of South Carolina and North Carolina and offers her services of spiritual clarity, healer, life map retreat provider, and spiritual midwife to retreats, metaphysical/spiritual events, and individuals.
Community building is important to Davelyn so she began working with Speaking Down Barriers in 2017 as a facilitator. Using her MFT and Reiki she leads support groups, presents research, and conducts university presentations as well as facilitates training seminars around racial trauma and oppression.
Most recently she has been coordinating with funeral personnel about issues surrounding grief and is a part of a team of facilitators presenting public series on the grieving process.
Davelyn Athena, also known as Davelyn Hill, is not only an MFT and Reiki II Healer but is an author, poet, and intuitive painter. Her visual art was featured at “Say it with Slay’” in Spartanburg, SC and been displayed through Spark and Echo, the National Equity in Medicine Online Gallery, and Neue South SPACE Walk. As the poetess, Poetic WIllow, she is the two-time Haiku Champion at "Say What?!" Haiku slam through Wits End Poetry.
To further her influence in healing and artistic connection, she is currently working on an MFA in creative writing with an emphasis in Poetry.
